GOVERNMENT CRISIS: WHAT DO STUDENTS THINK?

As citizens wait eagerly for any news indication about an early election, sundaycircle.com asks University students to voice their opinion about Malta’s current political crisis, and how it might eventually leave an impact on their lives.

Q1. Do you think there will be an early election? If so who would be elected in government?

Yes there will be an early election and PN will win.

Q2. Do you think Franco Debono did this out of ambition? Do you think it was his intention to bring down the government?

Yes, I think it was for his personal interest as opposed to the national interest.

Q3. If the government is brought down, how will it affect your life?

There would be a decrease in jobs and therefore possibly a different investment in students.

Q1. Do you think there will be an early election? If so who would be elected in government?

Yes, but it’s too close to call.

Q2. Do you think Franco Debono did this out of ambition? Do you think it was his intention to bring down the government?

I believe that he might have had personal reasons which might have been ignited by some current issues such as the Arriva situation.

Q3. If the government is brought down, how will it affect your life?

I believe that it is never a good thing if a government had to be brought down, from either side, however I do hope that if another government had to replace the current one, it would be responsible for the people’s needs rather than just gaining power.

Yes there will be. I think PN will win.

Q2. Do you think Franco Debono did this out of ambition? Do you think it was his intention to bring down the government?

I think his sole intention was to politically expose himself more to the public, bringing down the government was the effect of this. However I also think his political ambition shouldn’t have led to this.

Q3. If the government is brought down, how will it affect your life?

I’m sure it will have some effect, but not a great one. I believe a change in government is needed, however not by PL.

I think there will be an election, but whoever will be elected will not make any changes to improve the country at the moment, due to the ongoing problems worldwide.

Q2. Do you think Franco Debono did this out of ambition? Do you think it was his intention to bring down the government?

It wasn’t his intention. He just wanted to speak out and only tell everyone of what he is capable of.

Q3. If the government is brought down, how will it affect your life?

It will not affect me that much; the only thing is that people will start bugging you on who to vote etc…

Yes, but I’m not interested in who will govern.

 Q2. Do you think Franco Debono did this out of ambition? Do you think it was his intention to bring down the government?

Most probably yes, but he might have issues which are considered to be valid and which the government should have addressed a long time ago but continued to procrastinate.

Q3. If the government is brought down, how will it affect your life?

It does not affect me anyway as long as my income continues to be credited in my bank account.

I am not entirely sure; if there is an early election I think that it will be a very close one, with a difference of a few votes.

Q2. Do you think Franco Debono did this out of ambition? Do you think it was his intention to bring down the government?

Yes, he simply wants to be a minister.

Q3. If the government is brought down, how will it affect your life?

My mother will be left without a job.
